This year, Veritas Pension Insurance has chosen to donate its holiday card funds to the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) for protection of the Baltic Sea. The donation supports practical work to save the Baltic Sea, combat biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change.
“We have only one planet and Finland has only one sea. We need concrete actions to maintain the vitality of the Baltic Sea, now and for the future,” says Laura Wickström, CIO of Veritas.
The Baltic Sea remains one of the most polluted seas in the world. BSAG is working to improve the state of the sea in co-operation with companies, authorities and researchers.
“As a pension company, our responsibility for pension funds extends far into the future. As an investor and owner, we encourage companies to set ambitious targets in an effort to mitigate climate change, reduce environmental hazards and conserve biodiversity. Together, our impact is greater.”
