Reporting suspected misconduct (whistleblowing)

Responsibility is a fundamental part of Veritas’ basic task as a pension provider. We require our employees to work in compliance with the ethical and other operational principles of Veritas, general guidelines and valid legislation.

We take suspected misconduct seriously and wish to provide a confidential channel for whistleblowing. The whistleblowing channel (as per EU Directive) endeavours to protect individuals who, in connection with their work, observe or suspect misconduct. Such serious misconduct may include fraud and theft, market abuse, money laundering or corruption.

The whistleblowing channel is intended for the use of Veritas employees, agents and other interest groups who have dealings with Veritas through their work.

The channel is only to be used for the reporting of suspected misconduct. If you wish to give customer feedback, you can submit your feedback using the Feedback page or by contacting our customer service directly.

How will the report be processed?

Whistleblowing reports will be processed by an independent team consisting of compliance and internal auditing representatives. The team will review any reports submitted through the whistleblowing channel and initiate the necessary measures. Suspected misconduct can be examined in collaboration with authorities or forwarded to the police for further investigation.

The identity of the whistleblower will be fiercely protected throughout the entire handling process. Those processing the information are obligated to ensure the secrecy of the whistleblower. No information about the whistleblower’s identity will be disclosed without the whistleblower’s express consent. A processor can, however, divulge the whistleblower’s identity if such information is necessary, for example, for the submission of a police report or for the preliminary investigation of the police or court proceedings.

One general condition for whistleblower protection is that the whistleblower must have a legitimate reason to believe that the information concerning the misconduct is true at the time of the report.
