Sending attachments electronically

You can expedite the processing of your application by sending us attachments electronically. You can scan the documents or send them to us as photos. The processing of your submission will be smooth if you follow these tips.

Scan or photograph

Scan a document and save it to your computer. It’s best if you save the attachment in PDF format.

If you take a photo with your camera, transfer the digital photo from your camera memory card to your computer. If you take the photo with your phone, you can attach the photo directly to an email.

Tips for photographing documents:

1. Crop

  • Align the document straight and perpendicular before photographing it.
  • Ensure that all essential information is included in the photo.
  • Crop all unnecessary things from the image.
  • Don’t zoom in, just take the photo from a sufficiently close range.

2. Focus

  • Focus carefully on the document you are photographing.
  • Keep your hand steady while taking the photo.
  • Check prior to sending that the photo is sharp and the text in the attachment can be clearly read from the photo.

3. Take advantage of natural light

  • Make sure that the document is well lit. Do not, however, use any flash. If possible, take advantage of any natural light available.
  • Check that there are no shadows in the photo.
