Tenant information

Every tenant plays an important role in ensuring that life within the housing company is pleasant and responsible. Tenants should take each other into consideration and be tolerant of sounds that reflect normal life. It’s a good idea to follow all the common house rules in order to maintain harmony with your neighbours. Be sure to read through the regulations for your specific housing company. They are posted, for example, on the notice board or information screen found in the building stairwell.

Safety and maintenance of apartment and common spaces

Each tenant is responsible for helping to maintain the comfort of the living environment. Keep the flat and common areas tidy. Respect the fact that smoking is not permitted in the flats or common areas. Notify the maintenance company without delay if something is broken or missing from the flat. The contact information of the maintenance company is posted on the notice board or information screen in your building. Also remember to make sure that your home insurance has been transferred to cover your new flat and that the amount of indemnity corresponds to your current property.

It is a good idea to check regularly that your fire alarms are working, since it’s the tenant’s responsibility to ensure that they are functional. By law, every 60 square metre of living space must have at least one fire alarm. It is also wise for every flat to be equipped with a fire blanket and/or small fire extinguisher for emergency situations.

Tenants should regularly clean the floor drains in their wash or wet rooms. The drain trap under the sinks should also be cleared and cleaned in order to ensure that water can flow unobstructed down the drains. Additionally, tenants should regularly clean the grease filter on the cooker hood as well as the exhaust and make-up air vents.

Flat keys should be stored with care and free of any name or address information. If a key is lost, please contact the real estate department at Veritas.

Parking

Any parking spaces owned by the housing company are reserved for those who have rented them and your car must be parked in its designated space. Tenants can enquire about available parking spaces from the real estate department.
