The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has confirmed the indexes concerning earnings-related pension security for the year 2026. Next year, the earnings-related pension index will increase pensions by about 0.88 per cent and the wage coefficient by about 2.33 per cent in comparison to 2025.
As of 1 January 2026, the earnings-related pension index will increase pensions in payment at the start of the year. The wage coefficient will increase those pensions that are not yet in payment at the start of the year but will, instead, be paid later.
The payment of a pension shall start on 1 December 2025, at the latest, in order to be increased by the earnings-related pension index.
“Veritas pension recipients can check the amount of their index-adjusted pension in the online service already in late November, starting from 27 November 2025. The pension record will show the increased sums from 1 January 2026 onwards”, explains Pirta Toivonen, Product Specialist at Veritas.
There is no need to apply for the index adjustment, it is automatically taken into account for pensions in payment.
