When will my pension be paid?
We always pay earnings-related pension payments on the first banking day of each month.
If your pension is granted retroactively:

Paid pensions are reported to the Incomes Register
Veritas has been reporting information about paid pensions and benefits to the Incomes Register since 1 January 2021. This makes it easier for pension and benefit recipients to manage their daily matters. Since their income information is up-to-date in the Incomes Register, pension recipients do not need to independently supply the authorities with this information, for example, as attachments to possible applications.
Log in and review your own income information from the website of the Incomes Register. You can log in using your own online banking codes, a mobile certificate or a Citizen Certificate.
How can I change my bank account number?
Provide the new bank account number well in advance of your old account being closed.
The easiest way to change your bank account number is through our online service, which you can log in to using your online banking codes.
If you wish, you can also complete a Change of bank details form and send it to us by mail. The form can be found in the Forms and applications page. The form is available in Finnish (pdf) and in Swedish (pdf). Remember to sign the form.
In order to ensure your data security, we cannot take any account information by phone.
How do I change my address?
If your address changes, you do not need to inform us of your new address, since we will automatically get this information from the register authorities.
How do I change tax issues related to my pension?
If changes occur in your pension income, order a new tax card. You can order a revised tax card from the website of the Tax Administration or by calling +358 (0)29 497 000.
The tax authorities will send your pension tax card directly to us in electronic format and, in future years, we will also receive the withholding rate for your pension directly from the tax authorities.
The new rate always takes effect from the start of February. Taxes will be withheld from income paid in January in accordance with the withholding rate of the previous year.
Around the turn of the year, we automatically send to you and the tax authorities information about the pension payments and withholding tax amounts from the previous year.
If you want us to withhold a higher rate of taxes from your pension than it states on your tax card, you can directly provide us with a new, higher tax rate by sending us a message through our online service.
Why is 40% tax being withheld from my pension?
If you do not supply us with a pension tax card, we have to withhold 40% in taxes from your pension. The withholding rate for payment instalments of retroactive pension is also 40%.
We will refund any excessive taxes to you as soon as we have received a new tax card for your pension or retroactive pension.
How do I get a pension certificate?
If you need a written certificate of your pension amount for your bank, for example, you can print out the certificate in the online service. If you wish us to send you the certificate by post, you can order it in the online service or by calling us.
My pension card has been damaged or lost – how do I get a new one?
If your pension card is damaged or has been lost, you can order a new one in the online service or by calling us. Please note that your digital pension card is constantly available in the online service.
What does pension indexation mean?
The amount of earnings-related pensions is adjusted each year by the earnings-related pension index. The purpose of the earnings-related pension index is to ensure that the purchasing power of pensions in payment is maintained.
For further information on the subject, go to section Pension indexation.
