The Sustainability Report of pension insurance company Veritas for 2025 has been published.
“The year 2025 was a successful one for Veritas. We grew at the fastest rate in the sector in terms of premiums written and TyEL payroll”, says Elina Fogelholm, CEO of Veritas.
Veritas’ premiums written increased by 10.6 per cent for a total of EUR 856.7 million. The TyEL payroll of companies insured by Veritas grew during the year by 9.7 per cent. The number of YEL insurance policies increased by 4.5 per cent, which was also the strongest growth in the sector.
“Veritas’ investments generated the best return of all earnings-related pension insurance companies in 2025. The improved solvency resulted in larger client bonuses for our customers.”
According to Fogelholm, Veritas has developed its operations during the year and taken the first steps in the use of artificial intelligence.
“This year we are preparing a new strategy and developing our services. I can promise, however, that our customers will remain the focus of our operations.”
Climate work has progressed even faster than our set targets
The Sustainability Report brings together the key information related to the environment, society and good governance at Veritas, as well as the targets and results of sustainability work from 2025.
“Our climate work has progressed faster than set out in our climate roadmap. The weighted average carbon intensity of listed equity and corporate bond investments has decreased by 54 per cent compared to the level in 2020”, says Paula Marjamaa, Sustainability Specialist at Veritas.
Marjamaa also highlights the renewed well-being at work survey, which was available to all employer customers for the first time.
“The well-being at work survey helps customers to identify and prioritise areas for development in order to improve well-being at work. According to our customer survey, 79 per cent of the customers who used the well-being at work survey tool undertook actions based on observations from the survey.”
The Sustainability Report was prepared in accordance with the VSME standard
The Sustainability Report was prepared for the first time in accordance with the voluntary reporting standard for small and medium-sized enterprises (VSME).
The implementation of the new reporting standard is reflected, among other things, in the structure of the report and some new key indicators, which complement previous reporting and support the monitoring of the progress of sustainability work.
“The results of our double materiality assessment informed the preparation of our sustainability report and helped us focus on material information for our stakeholders. The VSME standard enabled clear and coherent reporting on our sustainability work and brought our reporting closer to EU reporting practices”, says Marjamaa.
