How will my pension be paid if I am living abroad?
Earnings-related pension can be paid from Finland to all countries. If you want to receive your pension to a foreign bank account, we will need
- your bank account number in the international IBAN format
- the BIC code of your foreign bank
- your address abroad.
The easiest way to notify us of a change in your bank account is through our online service, which can be accessed with your online banking codes. You can also notify us of the change using the Change of bank details form found on our Forms and applications page. The form is available in Finnish and in Swedish. Remember to sign the form.
Taxation of pension while abroad
If you live abroad, the taxation of your pension is determined by, among other things, your nationality and whether you are living abroad temporarily or permanently. More detailed information about the taxation of Finnish-sourced pension benefits paid to individuals living abroad can be found from the website of the Tax Administration or by contacting the tax authorities by phone at +358 (0)29 497 024.
Contact details for pensioners living abroad are checked annually on the residence report
If you live abroad and Veritas is paying your earnings-related pension, we send you each year a residence report to be completed. The report enables us to ensure that the contact details we have for you are up to date. The payment of your pension abroad continues uninterrupted as long as you supply the information requested in the residence report by the deadline.
You can return the residence report
- by post. Send the report to Veritas Eläkevakuutus, PL 133, 20101 Turku, FINLAND
- by sending a message in the online service. If you have Finnish banking codes, you can log in to the online service to send the information requested in the residence report in a message there.
- by phone. Call our customer service.
Please note that you are required to return the residence report even if your circumstances have not changed.
Change of address while abroad
If your foreign address is changing, notify us of your new address through our online service.
