The interest on TyEL and YEL insurance contributions will change to 2.20% at the start of 2026. Interest is added to an insurance contribution amount if the due date for the invoice is postponed until a later date.

The turn of the year will bring changes to the lower and upper limits for YEL income. YEL contribution rates will remain unchanged, but the wage coefficient will increase the YEL income amount by 2.2 per cent compared to 2024.

The interest on TyEL and YEL insurance contributions will rise at the start of 2024 to 4.10%. Interest will be added to the insurance contribution amount if the due date for the invoice is postponed until a later date.

The Self-Employed Persons’ Pensions Act (YEL) was amended on 1 January 2023. The legislative reform obliges pension insurance companies to review and adjust the YEL income of self-employed persons regularly, at intervals of three years. Veritas will start the reviews after the summer.
