Can I get a payment extension on TyEL and YEL payments?

Veritas may, upon request, extend the payment period of TyEL and YEL payments.

You can easily check your payments in Veritas online service. You can also contact your own insurance advisor there or by phoning him or her.

In case you experience difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact your contact person at Veritas. You can discuss your situation confidentially with us.

What if I get ill or placed in quarantine?

The YEL insurance is the basis of the self-employed person’s social security and provides basic coverage if you get ill or placed in quarantine by a doctor. The amount of your sickness allowance is determined by the YEL income confirmed in your YEL insurance.

If you are placed in quarantine, Kela can pay a sickness allowance on account of an infectious disease. The amount of the allowance is also determined by the YEL income.
